It’s the Klötzlers job to make a scene and make room for the Muller’s to enter. The unmistakable look of the Klötzler is what draws the attention of the spectators.
His garment is fitted with wooden slats that create noise as he bounces around. Very often there are two different types of wood to create the Klötzler (Dark Walnut and Beech).
What makes the Klötzler especially noteworthy is that his robe itself weighs about 22 pounds.
